Today’s show will be devoted to the life and work of Lorraine Hansberry specifically focusing on our interview with Professor Margarette Wilkerson discussing the various aspects of Hansberry’s legacy ranging from her contribution to the civil rights movement, her literary legacy and her lesbianism. Part of this interview was broadcast previously, but part has not been. We’ll be devoting the hour to this topic.

Out-FM Producer Pedro Angel Serrano interviews the duo Virago. John Riley reports on the case of 2 of the New Jersey 4. One woman was exhonerated and another has the possibility of a new trial. John also brings us highlights from the NYC Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Rally held at Bryant Park. The rally was attended by hundreds. The show includes speeches by the Marriage Equality Exective Director about where the struggle is in NY State. The show also includies an interview conducted at the rally with openly Gay and HIV positive, State Senator Tom Duane about same-sex marriage and the struggle for LGBT rights.
