ACT UP/NY and Philadelphia in conjunction with Healthcare NOW and Physicians for a National Health Plan are planning a protest to demand REAL national health care reform by demanding a single-payer insurance system. It would offer excellent services to everyone from cradle to grave. It would be administered by the government, be paid for by taxes instead of premiums and would cover everything from basic care to treatment for AIDS and cancer. Dental, mental health and vision would be a part of it as well.

On Tuesday March 13, nearly 20 years after Larry Kramer gave his historic speech calling for a direct action group to fight the AIDS Crisis, he calls for a renewed effort to fight both AIDS and homophobia. Following the speech the 200 member audience stayed for a meeting to plan an action to protest the comments of General Pace who said that gays are immoral. The action will be at Time Square military recruitment center at noon on Thursday, March 14th.
