Justice for Bell, Benefield & Guzman!
Community Control! Police Accountability
!

Peoples' Justice is a coalition of NYC-based grassroots organizations
that have joined forces to win community control and police
accountability.

The NYPD's shooting of Trent Benefield and Joseph Guzman and the death of Sean Bell are NOT isolated or random events. They are the result of the
continued racial profiling of communities of color by the police and the lack of accountability for police misconduct and abuse. Just weeks ago, statistics were released confirming that there were over 1/2 million "stop & frisks" by the NYPD last year. There have been at least 3 police killings and 7 police shootings since
Sean Bell was killed.
A Grand Jury is presently convening for a possible indictment against the cops involved in the shootings and they are expected to make a decision about whether to indict the cops involved in the coming days or weeks.

Join PEOPLES JUSTICE coalition to bear witness that justice will be served.
The NYPD is also trying to limit political protest by instituting
new permit regulations that will limit people's right to assemble.

The day AFTER the grand jury decision, come to Union Square, in
Manhattan, to show that we are aware, watching, and will not be silent.

** IF THE DAY AFTER grand jury decision is a WEEKDAY , come to Union
Square AT 5PM -
** IF THE DAY AFTER grand jury decision is A WEEKEND, BE THERE AT 12 NOON!
