Professor Kendall Thomas on Critical Race Theory

We have the pleasure tonight of, interviewing Kendall Thomas, who is a scholar of comparative constitutional law and human rights and his teaching and research focus on critical race theory, legal philosophy, feminist legal theory, and law and sexuality. He's the co-founder and director of the Center for the Study of Law and Culture at Columbia Law School, where he leads interdisciplinary projects and programs that explore how the law operates as one of the central ways to create meaning in society. He has taught at Columbia law school since 1986, and he has written and spoken widely on the impact of AIDS and was a founding member of the majority action caucus of ACT UP, Sex Panic, and the AIDS Prevention Action League. He's a former board member of gay men's health crisis. And he now serves on the board of the New York City AIDS Memorial and Kendall Thomas is also a professional jazz vocalist who who performs at venues, including Joe's Pump. Naomi Brussel, interviewing with me is going to be a Stahamili Mapp and John Riley. On tonight's show we will be discussing the attack on Critical Race Theory by the far right.
