Emergence of Catholic Nun Sex-Abuse Perpetrators (postponed to 1/24/23)
Since the 1980s the Catholic Church and many other churches have been exposed as having a significant percentage of clergy that engage in abuse of their rank and file membership including children, adolescents and young adults. Last week we talked to several Members of the Survivor Network of those Abused by Priests and Nuns. This week we’ve invited two SNAP members, both lesbians, back to discuss a little discussed topic, that is those abused by nuns.
For many it is not a hard to believe male clergy would engage in abuse, but nuns have been seen as not likely to engage in physical, psychological or sexual abuse. But for Mary Dispenza and Paige Anderson, they have experienced this type of abuse from nuns and are here to talk about this phenomena.
