Announcement
45th Anniversary of AIDS Vigil and March: On June 5th, 1981, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control first officially reported on what would become known as HIV/AIDS. While AIDS Drugs have lowered the rate of spread of the disease, there still is no cure and requires lifetime treatment. At least 23 states and Washington, D.C., have implemented or are considering cost-containment measures for their Ryan White AIDS Drug Assistance Programs (ADAPs). Of these, 18 ADAPs have already actively cut or restricted benefits, while 5 others are actively considering similar restrictions to balance their budgets. Internationally the US has dramatically slashed spending on buying low cost generic AIDS drugs for developing countries, jeapordizing millions of lives. Join ACT UP/NY and other AIDS organizations this Friday June 5th, at 7pm as they will be marking the 45th anniversary of the AIDS epidemic and the 44 million dead since the start of the pandemic, with a candlelight vigil and march, starting at the NYC AIDS Memorial Again the 45 Years Vigil ✊ Fri 6/5, 7pm at AIDS Memorial at West 12th St and 7th avenue in Manhattan. More at ACTUPNY.COM.

The Ida B. Wells Media Defense Network presents a Zoom film showing of "The Occupation of the American Mind" and a book talk with queer activist and academic Emmaia Gelman on the book The Anti-Defamation League and the Racial State — both of which expose how propaganda, media power, and political influence are mobilized to silence dissent and manufacture support for apartheid, occupation, and war.
