Pauline Park and Kiara St. James in 2013

On this show, Out-FM's Pauline Park interviewed New York Transgender Action Group (NYTAG) chair Kenyon Farrow about NYTAG's co-founder, the late Kiara St. James.

Kiara St. James was raised in the Church of God in Christ, COGIC. In an oral history recorded by M. Obrien for the NYC Trans Oral History Project,  Kiara St. James said, "So I grew up in a very fundamentally Christian, condemning background, and it was very condemning to where I did not, even as a child. I felt like I… Something was wrong with me."

The episode of OutFM featured a conversation with Kenyon Farrow about t his friendship with Kiara St. James, who co-founded the New York Transgender Advocacy Group (NITAG) following the murder of Islan Nettles in 2013. He explained how he first met Kiara while working at Housing Works in New York and joined NITAG's board to support the leadership of trans women, particularly Black trans women. Kenyon announced a memorial service for Kiara scheduled for July 18th at 1pm at St. John's Lutheran Church in New York City, which will be free and open to the public.

Also Out-FM's John Riley and Pauline Park discussed the disturbing record and legacy of the late Sen. Lindsey Graham. Michael Fanone is the police officer who was attacked by the January 6th insurrections and suffered a heart attack and Tramatic Brain Injury as a result. The show also included a segment analyzing the legacy of Senator Lindsey Graham, focusing on his political contradictions, support for military interventions, and his complex relationship with LGBTQ issues. The hosts discussed Graham's support for HIV/AIDS funding through the President's Emergency Program for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), which gives money for purchasing AIDS Drug in developing countries,  while calling for cuts to Medicaid in the US. The discussion included his broader right-wing record and hypocrisy regarding his sexuality, including assertions from some people who worked as male sex workers, who claimed he had sex with them. Graham while living firmly denied being gay.
