Out-FM's Naomi Brussel talks with Pauline Park about the campaign to make New York City's LGBT organizational names bisexual- and transgender-inclusive: the Coalition for Unity & Inclusion (CUI) launched a campaign nearly 30 years ago to persuade the city's leading organizations to change their names from 'gay and lesbian' or 'lesbian and gay' to 'lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender' back when none of them identified as 'LGBT' despite the fact that many were serving bi and trans people; the story of this campaign has never been told before and it is a significant piece of LGBT community history with lessons for the present day even as 'LGBTQ+' and other more inclusive nomenclature has become commonplace within and outside the queer community.

Oscar Wilde is an iconic figure in the LGBTQ community for his courageous fight against the pervasive and institutional homophobia of Victorian Britain; Wilde is known for his witty plays, above all, his masterpiece, "The Importance of Being Earnest." But the gay Irishman wrote many little known poems and short stories, some of the short stories in the form of fairy tales. Out-FM's Pauline Park reads "The Star-Child," a short story Wilde wrote in the form of a fairy tale.
