Emmaia Gelman on the Anti-Defamation League
Out-FM's Naomi Brussel and Pauline Park will interview Emmaia Gelman on Tuesday's show about her new book on the Anti-Defamation League in which she documents the ADL's long and shameful history of collaboration with the federal government and non-state right-wing forces working to suppress progressive Jewish, Arab and Black voices working for liberation; in the book, published by the University of California Press, Gelman amply documents the collusion between the ADL and the Zionist Jewish establishment in attempting to silence progressive anti-Zionist Jewish community members and organizations as well as ADL's central role in colluding with the FBI and successive presidential administrations in fueling the 'Red Scare' to make anti-communism a central locus for defining American patriotism and civil rights in a way that excluded the possibility of challenges to US empire as well as institutionalized racism and Zionism.
