Outright TV: Queer Sanctuary on a Farm in Hungary

In this episode, OutRight's Sr Communications Manager, Daina Ruduša, speaks to Tina Kolos Orban from Transvanilla in Hungary about Prime Minister Orban's growing authoritarianism, using COVID19 as an excuse to amass more power, and Tina finding sanctuary on a farm. Currently about 3065 people have been diagnosed with the virus and 363 have died.

Orban's power has grown incredibly as the power of his party, Fidesz, has expanded. The media, used to have an impact on him but moves by the PM have restricted their influence. Orbán has not given an interview to an independent Hungarian media outlet in over five years.

According to the NY Times, His government now oversees state-owned news outlets, while his allies control most of the country’s private media sources, creating a virtual echo chamber for Mr. Orban’s far right, anti-immigrant views.
