Queer Liberation March & Police Attacks On Protesters

Jay Walker - Reclaim Pride Coalition
On the 50th anniversary of the first Gay Pride march, organized by queer radicals and progressives, we'll talk with Jay Walker, one of the Black spokespeople of the multiracial Reclaim Pride Coalition . The Coalition has organized this year’s QUEER LIBERATION MARCH FOR BLACK LIVES AND AGAINST POLICE BRUTALITY, happening at the same time as our program. He’ll explain why this coalition -- forged in 2018 against commercialization and over-policing of the Pride march – decided to focus this year on Black Lives Matter. We'll also speak with Jason Rosenberg, a white ACT UP member who was one of many protesters attacked and injured by police following a June 2 Black Trans Matter street march.
Queer Black Panther Ericka Huggins Speaks Out
You’ll hear Part 1 of a stunning interview with longtime Black Panther Party member, community educator/leader, and self-identified queer Ericka Huggins. This is part of our Queerly Defiant series. Ericka discusses her experiences as a Panther, including the FBI-instigated assassination of her husband John Huggins Jr. and their comrade Alprentice "Bunchy" Carter. both in their 20s; her 2+ years as a political prisoner (including months in solitary confinement); and the Panthers’ public support for the then-new Lesbian and Gay Liberation movement, and reflects on her hopes for the current-day uprising against racist police murders. (Tune into Out-FM on Tues., July 7 at 8 PM for Part 2.) Click here or above photo for full video interview.
Does This Uprising Change The Lives Of Trans People Of Color?

Grace Detrevarah
Black Trans activist Grace Detrevarah comments on the current, long overdue but perhaps fleeting, public attention focused on the brutality against and murders of Black Trans Women. She describes her work as an advocate and educator for formerly incarcerated Trans people and the demand for inclusivity and "a place at the table."
